Abstract
Magnetic particle imaging (MPI) is an emerging medical imaging technique with the advantages of high sensitivity, linear quantitation, and no ionizing radiation. The magnetic nanoparticles play a vital role in MPI. Hence, we investigated the effects of oxygen vacancies in iron oxide nanoparticles (IONPs) on MPI imaging performance. We developed IONPs with different oxygen vacancies and the results showed that as the oxygen vacancies of IONPs increased, the MPI signal initially increased and then decreased. And IONPs with two oxygen vacancies exhibited the optimal MPI imaging performance, which providing effective evidence for designing high-performance IONPs.
