Abstract
A magnetic field-modulated X-ray Induced Magnetic Particle Acoustic Imaging (xMPAI) technique is proposed in this
study, which combines an external static magnetic field with ultrashort pulsed X-ray excitation for targeted imaging of
magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs). Under the modulation of a controlled external magnetic field, MNPs exhibit enhanced
thermoacoustic response due to magnetic polarization. We evaluated the feasibility of this technique through designed
phantom experiments and observed a significant signal enhancement. By introducing a magnetic field modulation
mechanism, this method improves the in-vivo detection sensitivity of MNPs, providing a potential strategy for achieving
high-contrast and molecular imaging of biological tissues.
